Assignment -

STUDY NOTES: In order to ensure your complete preparation for Microsoft Certification, you should complete all of the step-by-step projects throughout the textbook. Completing the entire textbook is how you will learn the work and be prepared when your certification time comes. However, we have limited time in our curriculum - so, even if a task is not explicitly assigned, you should take the time to review it.

These helpful tips will ensure you get started on the path to success!

  • Before beginning, set your system to English (United States). This is because the textbook's instructions require a certain measurement format that will not work properly if set to English (Canada).
  • As mentioned, do every task, on every page, even if not explicitly assigned. The instructors may ask to see your work at any time to ensure that you are getting the most out of your time.
  • Do not skip steps, or you will find yourself confused and frustrated.
  • Read and double-check each step carefully.
  • Please see the Do & Submit section below for which In the Labs to submit.
  • The required Data Files are available for download on the Course Page.

Practice - In addition to completing all of the required submissions, you should review and attempt some or all of the Apply Your Knowledge, Extend Your Knowledge, and Expand Your World exercises at the end of each chapter ("Module"). These practice exercises will not be submitted or evaluated.

Data Files - For any data files that the textbook asks you to open, you can get these in the Resources section for this week. Please be sure to download these files to your computer, and then extract the folder before attempting to use the files. If you do not extract the folder first your work will not save properly.

In order to extract files, right-click on the folder name and choose "Extract All" (please note: some extractors may say "Extract" or "Extract Here". These will do the same thing).
