Problem 1.

A 21 kg block is suspended from a spring having a stiffness of 90 N/m. If the block is given an upward velocity of 0.8 m/s when it is 45 mm above its equilibrium position, determine the maximum upward displacement of the block measured from the equilibrium Position.

Problem 2.

A 4kg block is suspended from a spring having a stiffness of 350 N/m. If the block is pushed 31 mm upward from its equilibrium position and then released with an upward velocity of 0 m/s, determine the (a); amplitude, (b) natural frequency, and (c) natural period of the vibration.

Problem 3.

The 175 lb block is supported on frictionless rollers and bonded to four (4) springs each having k = 130 lb/in. If the block is pushed 4.7 inches side-wards from its equilibrium position and then released front rest, determine the (a) amplitude, (b) natural frequency and (c) natural period of the vibration.

Problem 4.

The disk, having a radius of 0.9 ft and weight of 35lbs, is pinned at its center O and supports the block A that has a weight of 0.3 lbs. One end of the belt which passes over the disk is attached to a spring with k = 105 lb/ft the other end is attached to block A. The belt is not allowed to slip at its contacting surface. If block A is pushed 2.2 inch clown from its equilibrium position and then released front rest, determine the (a) amplitude. (b) natural frequency and (c) natural period of the vibration.
