Question: An air stream enters a 2.5-cm-diameter pipe with Mach 2.5 and a pressure and temperature of 30 kPa and -15°C, respectively. The average friction factor can be assumed to be 0.005. Determine the maximum possible length of tube if there are to be no shock waves in the flow. Also, find the values of the pressure and the temperature at the tube exit for this maximum length. Assume the flow to be adiabatic.
