A 30- by 42-in. jaw crusher is set to operate with a 2 -in. opening.

The output from the crusher is discharged onto a screen with If 1-in. openings. The efficiency of the screen is 90%. The aggregate that does not pass through the screen goes to a 40- by 20-in. roll crusher, set at 1 in. Determine the maximum output of the roll crusher in tons per hour for material less than 1 in.

There will be no recycle of roll crusher oversize. What amount, in tons per hour, of the roll crusher output is in the range of 1 in. to 1 in.to  and what amount is less than  in.?
