You will evaluate seismogram data to determine the epicenter and the magnitude of an actual earthquake event.

Once you have completed the assignment, answer the following questions.

1) Which area did you investigate?

2) Were you able to accurately pinpoint the location of the earthquake's epicenter? If you did not find the exact location, please explain why.

3) In two short paragraphs of YOUR OWN WORDS please explain the process for 1)locating an earthquake's epicenter and 2)determining its magnitude. You need to be explicit in your answer. Take me through the process step by step to show that you understand how this is done.

Your paragraphs for question 3 are the bulk of your grade for this assignment. Be sure to pay attention to each step of the simulation as you work through it so that you can be sure to truly understand the process well enough to explain it back to me.
