Two marbles are rolled towards each other. One marble (m1 = 4.2 g) has a speed of 5.1 m/s towards the right. The other marble (m2 = 6.1 g) has a speed of 3.8 m/s to the left. After the collision, the first marble moves to the left at a speed of 3.2 m/s.

A) Determine the magnitude and direction (left or right) of the velocity of the second marble after the collision ?

B) Prove (using numbers) that the kinetic energy of the system is not conserved in this collision ?
