A single-phase oil-cooled distribution transformer rated at 200 kVA, 7200\460 V, and 60 Hz has a core loss of 1100 W, of which 74 percent is due to hysteresis. The magnetizing current is 1.5 percent of rated current. Sketch the appropriate equivalent circuit and phaser diagram and, assuming step-down operation, determine (a) the magnetizing current and the core-loss component of exciting current; (b) the exciting current; (c) the no-load power factor; (d) the eddy-current losses.
