Your friend recently purchased a musical instrument that generates sound waves using several strings. When the strings vibrate they cause sound waves of the same frequency to combine in a tube open at both ends. The strings of the instrument are identical and waves on these strings have a speed of 125 m/s. The open tube has a length of 0.895 meters and the speed of sound in air should be taken to be 344 m/s. Determine the length of the strings of this instrument.
