Problem - Roubio Corporation purchased machinery & equipment on January 1, Year 1, at a cost of $12,00,000. The assets have a useful life of 6 years, with no expected residual value. These assets will be depreciated using the straight-line method of depreciation. At the beginning of year 4, Roubio Corp gets an appraisal performed on the assets, which finds them to be worth $14,000,000 (net of accumulated depreciation). Determine the impact the assets have on Roubio Corp's income in years 1-5 using (1) IFRS, assuming that the revaluation model is used for measurement subsequent to initial recognition, and (2) US GAAP.
