Air preheater are heat exchanger to preheat or air heating of the combustion air by means of flue gas, steam, water or thermal oil. Consider a sample of air which has a dry-bulb temperature of 30°C and a wet-bulb temperature of 15°C at 101.3 kPa. It is desired to heat the air in a preheater and then spray water into it adiabatically so that final air will be saturated at 30°C. Using the psychrometric chart, determine:

(a) The Humidity and Percent humidity of the initial air

(b) The Temperature to which the air is to be heated in the preheater and

(c) the Heat to be supplied per kg of dry air
