In a refrigeration system Refrigerant 22 enters the compressor at 150 kPa and -10 C. It leaves the compressor at 1.0 MPa and 90 C. Assume the mass rate of flow through the compressor is 0.016 kg/s and that the power input to the compressor is 1 kW. The refrigerant leaving the compressor enters a water-cooled condenser at 1.0 MPa and 80 C and leaves the condenser as liquid at 0.90 MPa and 35 C. Liquid water enters the condenser at 10 C and leaves at 20 C (both in the compressed liquid state). Assume no pressure change of the water through the condenser. Assume all processes are steady and the all potential and kinetic energy changes are negligible. For the condenser assume no heat transfer with the surroundings.
a. determine the heat transfer rate from the compressor.
b. determine the rate at which cooling water flows through the condenser.
if the sludge concentration in the return sludge line from the secondary clarifier were the same as the MLVSS concentration.WOULD recycle of return sludge increase the sludge age why
A car is traveling at 30 mph on a good, dry pavement at sea level. The front-wheel-drive car has a drag coefficient of 0.35, a frontal area of 30 ft2 and a weight of 2500 lbs. The wheelbase is 120 inches and the center of gravity is 20 inches from..

A steel tank hold 120 ft^3 of water at atmospheric pressure(14.7psi and 68.4 degrees f). the water is subjected to a 100 fold increase in pressure. determine the initial weight and final density of the water if the volume decreases by .545 ft ^3.
A system consists of liquid oxygen in equilibrium with oxygen vapor. How many phases are present The system undergoes a process during which some of the liquid is vaporized.
The initial schedule called for 500 feet of pipeline to be installed each week, with the total construction cost projected to be $25 million. After 8 weeks, 4750' of pipeline has been installed at a cost of $11.25 million.
The uniform steel shaft has two gears attached to it at B and C, two frictionless bearings, and the motor. The motor generates 15kip·in and the gears consume 10kip·in and 5kip·in. Find the diameter of the shaft if the maximum rotation between A an..
