Calculate the specific entropy generated in the filling process given in Example 4.10.
Example 4.10
Steam at a pressure of 1.4 MPa and a temperature of 300?C is flowing in a pipe (Fig. 4.14). Connected to this pipe through a valve is an evacuated tank. The valve is opened and the tank fills with steam until the pressure is 1.4 MPa, and then the valve is closed. The process takes place adiabatically, and kinetic energies and potential energies are negligible. Determine the final temperature of the steam.
Determine the work done on the piston by the gas, in kJ/kg of mixture. Treat the water vapor as an ideal gas.
The steam flow rate entering the pipe is 2500kg/hr. Due to heat loss from the pipe to the surrounding air (at 25 C) 20 kg/hr of condensate is formed in the pipe and removed at the end of the pipe.
Show transcribed image text An isotype step junction is one in which the same impurity type doping changes from one concentration value to another value. An n-n isotype doping profile is shown in Figure P7.12.
Determine the forces and stress in each member by using method of joints?
why the prediction are less than the observed result of connection in tension experiment?
If the state standard downstream is not met, the state has informed town 1 that it must treat its sewage further so the downstream standard is met. Use a mass balance approach to show that the state%u2019s request is unfeasible.
Knowing that the coefficient of static friction is 0.25 at all surfaces of contact, determine the smallest fprce P that should be applied to one of the wedges.
Each month the speedy dry Cleaning company buys 1 barrel (0.160 m^3)of dry cleaning fluid . Ninety percent of the fluid is lost to the atmosphere and 10 percent remains as residue to be disposed of
A sealed tank contains oil (SG = 0.83) for a height of 2 m and air at an absolute pressure of 136.3 kPa above the oil. If a piezometer is attached to the side of the tank at the bottom, what will be the height of oil column within the piezometer?
