When a thin slab of semiconducting material is illuminated with monochromatic electromagnetic radiation, most of the radiation is transmitted through the slab if the wavelength is greater than 4.19 µm. For wavelengths less than 4.19 µm, most of the incident radiation is absorbed. Determine the energy gap of the semiconductor.
