'Plaster of Paris' is a hydrated form of calcium sulphate, CaSO4, where water exists as part of the crystal structure of calcium sulphate. With heating, the water can be driven off to leave a sample that is only calcium sulphate. If the mass of a sample of plaster of Paris is 1.450g before heating and 1.360g after heating, determine the empirical formula of hydrated calcium sulphate, that is the simplest mole ratio of CaSO4:H2O (xCaSO4.yH2O).
Assuming the mixture has the same specific heat (4.184J/goC) and density (1.00 g/cm3) as water, calculate the heat (in J) transferred to the surroundings
Classify each mixture by what it indicates about and for the reaction at standard conditions.
We will define STP as 25 C and 1.00 bar. If a container holding neon gas is at volume of 52.6 L at STP, and the gas is compressed to 27.3 L and 2.01 bar, to what must the temperature change to, in K, to satisfy the new volume and pressure
It is found that 6.25e-06 g of Cd3(PO4)2 dissolves per 100 mL of aqueous solution at 25 oC. Calculate the solubility-product constant for Cd3(PO4)2.
Draw the structure of the simple dipeptides gly-ala and ala-gly. Circle the peptide bond in each structure.
For a particle moving in a circular orbit, the quantity mvr (mass x velocity x radius of the orbit) is a fundamental quantity called the angular momentum of the particle. Show that equation 2(3.144)r=n(lambda) is equivalent to the condition that t..
Using the molar ratio, determine how many liters of 0.180M lead (II) nitrate are required to react completely with 0.08 L of 0.130 M manganese (IV) chloride. Show work. (Superscripts= X^2, subscripts= X_2). Make sure to use the correct units.
Please provide help with the formula for the following problem: 10.0 grams of argon and 20.0 grams of neon are placed in a 1200.0 mL container at 25.0c.
In both cases write the oxidation and reaction processes assuming the corrosion reactions have been at neutral atmosphere
Define, explain and provide some examples of elitism as it applies to craft and industrial unions?
A 20.00 ml sample of 0.200 M HBr solution is titrated with 0.200 M NaOH solution. Calculate the pH of the solution after the following volume of base has been added: 20.1 ml.
