Problem- A stock of biomass (waste wood) is found to have a sulfur content of 0.1 wt% (dry basis) and a heating value on a dry basis of 8,000 Btu/lb. This fuel will be used to replace a Wyoming sub bituminous coal that has a sulfur content of 1.0 wt% (dry basis) but a heating value (dry basis) of 10,000 Btu/lb.
