A large street sign is oriented perpendicular to the wind and subject to a drag force. The average pressure on the upwind side of the sign is 0.8 times the stagnation pressure. The pressure on the back side is negative; its magnitude is 0.5 times the (negative) stagnation pressure on the back side.
