Problem 1: Determine the damping ratio if the peak to peak amplitude of an accelerometer attached to a vibrating beam goes from 5V to 3V after 6 cycles of oscillation.

Problem 2: A 1/8 in. thick aluminum bar 1 in. wide is mounted in a cantilevered condition, as we done in lab. If a 3 lb weight is hung 15 inches from the mount and a strain gauge is place 2 in. from the mount on the top of the beam, what strain is expected to be observed?
