A seed company expects a germination rate of at least 85% for a particular type of seed. However, there is concern that the current year's seed may not meet these standards due to adverse weather conditions during the growing season of the parent plants. A random sample of 400 seeds are selected and tested for germination. 72 seeds failed to germinate.
