On a certain calm day, a mild inversion causes the atmospheric temperature to remain constant at 30°C between sea level and 5 km altitude. Under these conditions,

(a) calculate the elevation change for which a 1 percent reduction in air pressure occurs,

(b) determine the change of elevation necessary to effect a 15 percent reduction in density, and

(c) plot p2/p1 and rho2/rho1 as a function of delta z.
