Assignment -

While rummaging around in an electronic junk yard, you stumble upon a photovoltaic device with an exposed area of 2 cm x 2 cm. Taped to the device is a voltage current characteristic curve that was identical to the figure below.

You examine this curve and decide that the illumination level in your area most closely matches 100 mW/cm2. If you operate the cell at 25oC, determine:

a) Dark current density (Jo);

b) The cell efficiency as a function of load resistance (you may present your results in either graphical or equation form);

c) The maximum efficiency for this cell under the stated conditions.
