Marketing Research Problem
The client wants Research based information on social media strategy to use so the client can grow the business.
Background:
The client is a small business owner selling jewelry (including necklaces, earrings, bracelets, cuff links, tie clips, watches, wedding gifts), and arts & crafts, from a store located near Carrollton, GA. The store is successful, has regular customers, but the client now want to grow the business and increase sales by moving to social media and selling online.
The client does not know much about social media so information is needed on items such as...... the best social media platform to use (e.g. Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter etc.), how to reach users, how to market the business on social media, which user base (demographics) to target, what promotions to run, what to post, how much to post, how to engage with the audience etc. This type of information will be most useful to the client.
The client wants you to propose data collection using a survey, and specifically wants to know what your survey will accomplish, and what kind of data you will collect using the survey. After data has been collected, provide your plan to analyze the collected data to come up with the results.
(NOTE: As mentioned above you will NOT collect data for this assignment, only provide a PLAN assuming data has been collected)
Goal:
The clients wants to hire a Marketing Research professional (you) to put together a Plan to determine the best way to take the business online using social media.
Use proper marketing terminology (that you learned throughout the semester from the textbook readings and discussion).
The client is also looking for logical steps (i.e. derived from research) the client should take to launch the business online by using social media. The client expects a Proposal Plan formatted based on the expectations given below.
Proposal Plan Format
Your Proposal should be submitted as a single MS-Word Document. Make sure to include your name on top right of the document and page numbers on the bottom center of each page.
Entire document must be double-spaced. In addition to the textbook, you must use Google Scholar to select at least 2 Research articles that you will cite in your proposal.
Remember to cite within the body text where you use the reference, and then provide complete reference in APA format (see APA Quick Guide in 'Course Documents') as the last page of the Proposal. You may use no more than 2 pictures or 2 Tables (or 1 of each) in your proposal.
Your Proposal will include the following sections as main headings:
• Introduction (include problem definition, your interpretation of the problem, background that you feel is relevant to the problem (based on research articles you selected), managerial decision your report will help the client make, significance of your what your report will provide.
• Method (include the types of questions you will include in the survey, sample selection, sampling procedure etc.)
• Analysis (what type of analysis you plan to run, e.g. what Hypothesis you will test, which tests you will use, how will you analyze the data
• Results (include how you plan arrive at the results, which test you will use for the hypothesis, and how will you present the findings)

• Reference page (must be on separate page)
