It is the end of 2020 and the executive team is having its annual Strategic Planning meeting.  The goal of this annual meeting is to set the five-year strategy and to set goals for the next year in support of the five-year plan.

One of the key strategic goals the executive team set for 2021 was to increase the revenue of the new Adjustaline product line to $20M by 12/31/2021.  This innovative product line was introduced in August of 2020 and the demand quickly exceeded the company's ability to supply that demand.  Due to the volatility of the retail industry, retailers are looking for inexpensive solutions that are flexible and easily reconfigured. Adjustaline is just the product the market needed.

Since CSI already has sales contracts for the $20M goal, the challenge is setting up the infrastructure to fulfill those contracts.  The main barrier is the inability to manufacture products fast enough.  As a result, a key strategic goal is to set up a new manufacturing facility by April 15, 2021.

Instructions

Put yourself in the position of John Rollings, CPO.  You have been assigned the task of ensuring a trained, qualified workforce is in place at the new location by the go-live date of April 15 without having any negative impact on the remainder of the business. You have been asked to present your recommendations to the rest of the executive team.

The new location will require the following staff upon opening:

-One Director of Operations to oversee all elements of the site.

-One Manufacturing Manager

-One Supply-chain Manager

-One Administrative Manager

-Three Warehouse Supervisors

-Four Manufacturing Supervisors

-Twenty Warehouse Associates

-Forty Manufacturing Associates
