Question - An examination of Puregold Corporation's records reveal the following:

On Dec. 31, 2015, the physical inventory of raw materials was 5,000 gallons at P25 per gallon

Direct materials requisitioned were 25,000 gallons. 5,000 gallons @ P20; 8,000 gallons @ P22; 7,000 gallons @ P 24; 5,000 gallons @ P25.

Puregold Corporation uses only two materials account, direct materials and factory supplies. Factory supplies requisitioned during the period amounted to P5,250

During the period, Puregold Corporation returned 2 gallons @ P24 because of delapidated container

1 gallon was returned to the stockroom @ P25

Assuming there is no inventory beginning, determine the amount of direct materials purchased for the period.
