1 Determine the amino acid sequence from the mRNA sequence. First, find the start and stop codons. Consult the genetic code! Remember: You will disregard the nucleotides before and after the start and stop as they are not part of the "sentence" you are translating. I know the start is AUG so I will ignore what comes before that codon. Work through the amino acid sequence in segments of 3 letters, which make up a codon. Write out the mRNA sequence you will use to determine the amino acid sequence here:
