Need help on designing a planar Patch-Array...

I do not know how to design a patch array.....

The requirement for the patch-array is

1)vertical Linear polarization

2)1GHz

3)gain has to be larger than 13dBi

4) as small as possible.

(assuming 1dB loss in the bearmforming network before antenna.)

We also need to
a)determine substrate for use
b)determine rectangular patch element geometry which is based on dielectric constant of the substrate
c)use far-field approximation formula to calculate the element pattern
d)determine the element spacing and number of elements for a square arrary configuration with equal distance between elements in x and y direction
e)determine the element phase and amplidtudes for meeting the required directivity
f)plot the final array radiation pattern(include array and element factor)
