A permanent magnet DC motor has an armature circuit resistanceof Ra = 0.4Ω, a motorconstant KE = KT = 0.5 in MKS units, a motor intertiaof JM = 0.02Kgm2, and a maximum armaturecurrent Iamax = 20A.
The motor is mechanically coupled to a load with inertia ofJL = 0.06Kgm2 that requires a constant Torque of 3Nm.
Determine:
1. The required current that must be applied to the motor to linearly accelerate the load from a speed of 50rad/sec, at t=0, to a speed of 400rad/sec, at steady state in 10seconds.
2. At t = 0, determine the applied voltages Va(t=0-) ,and Va(t=0+) and the back emf E.
