Assessment 2:

Answer the activity in as much detail as possible, considering organisational requirements.

1. Work with at least one other learner to establish quality objectives and requirements for a project of your choice. You must discuss quality requirements to identify short-term and long-term goals which are achievable and realistic. Recognise that stakeholders may need to be consulted when establishing these objectives and standards.

2. Working in your original pairs or small teams, create a quality management plan (document) for the project in Q1. Remember to create the document in line with organisational policy and procedures. It must contain criteria for the project, as well as a set of metrics to track progress. Once completed, the plan should be attached to this assessment

The plan must contain:

• What the project is
• What it aims to achieve
• How the project will work
• The deliverables
• Other values.

3. Working on your own, implement quality control and assurance processes on the project that you have been working on. Make sure you carry out regular systematic reviews using recognised processes to track progress against set goals and objectives. Provide evidence of this to the assessor.

4. Working in your original pairs, carry out a full and thorough review and evaluation of the project outcomes. If you identify any weaknesses or areas for improvement, make sure you communicate these to all members of your team, so that the organisation can improve for future projects. Provide evidence of this to the assessor.

5. Create a report explaining how you would:

• Determine the project's quality objectives with the project's stakeholders
• Define the project's quality metrics
• Communicate the project's quality requirements to the team and stakeholders
• Document the quality requirements in the project management plan
• Undertake a quality assurance audit, noting the methods that would be used
• Assess the project's quality control, noting the methods that would be used
• Take steps to identify a variance. What is the variance? How was it discovered? How will you resolve the problem?
• Record quality audit data and results according to organisational requirements
• Ensure that quality objectives are relevant and achievable in all four stages of the project's life cycle
• Sequence and schedule complex activities and monitor actions against goals
• Review and evaluate the project's outcomes to determine how effective the quality management was
• Decide on future improvements that could be made to processes
