One's Political Socialization helps determine personal political ideology. What if someone believes that individual liberty is more important than subdivision zoning that mandates color of houses? How do citizens determine the regulations related to abortion, capital punishment, suicide, and/or incarceration? Should our society allow all opinions to be heard without censorship?

Though one's political beliefs may not be well determined, let's try to gain a better understanding of in which political direction we lean.

Where does your political beliefs originate? The Pew Research Center offers a typology quiz.

After taking the typology quiz, tell the class what your scores are, and what they mean. Then, analyze why you believe the results or do not believe the scores. Is there a specific politician, perhaps a member of Congress, a state or local politician, or even a presidential candidate that identifies with your newly found ideology? What are some ideas that you and this politician might have in common? Remember, all posts/responses need reference citations.
