Students (grades 10-12) will be rating the teaching performance of each of their teachers at the end of each school year. However, the school principal does not know what to do or how to even get started. She decided to hire an HR consultant to take charge of this project and develop a teacher rating form and a training program to train students in the use of the rating form.

Assume you have been hired as the HR consultant for this project. Various chapters from your textbook will be useful as reference material for your task. Please be sure to include the following items in your paper:

1. Discuss your approach to job analysis to determine key job tasks so the rating form assesses job-relevant activities in the classroom.

2. Describe your preferred rating format with a few sample items. Be sure to explicate how the job analysis information served as input into the development of your rating form.

3. Describe the rater training you will provide to students, including when the training will occur and how frequently the training will be provided. Will any other raters besides students provide ratings and, if so, who might these raters be?

4. Consider legal issues should a teacher launch a legal complaint based upon the evaluations. How might features of your overall approach help the high school guard against either an unfavourable legal outcome or arbitration?

5. How might the evaluations be used as part of high school teachers' total compensation? How will the appraisal information be used to provide teachers with specific performance feedback?

6. How can poor evaluations be used to aid the Principal when making decisions about potential terminations?
