A proposal has been made to use stainless-steel tubing as part of the heat-transfer system in a nuclear reactor. High temperatures and extremely high rates of heat transfer will be involved. Under these conditions, temperature stresses across the tube walls will be high, and the design engineer must choose a safe wall thickness and tube diameter for the proposed unit. List in detail all information and data necessary to determine if a proposed tube diameter and gauge number would be satisfactory.
