#1: A student named Leo is in the process of testing different types of greenhouse material so that he can determine which type is most effective for growing strawberry bushes; thus, he purchases two different brands of tarps from a local store, and applies brand A to an area of the yard that receives full sunlight whilst applying brand B to another area of the yard which is in partial shade. Leo waters both areas daily, and at the end of the study, he concludes brand A is the more effective one at growing strawberry bushes. Is his conclusion valid, and why or why not?

#2: There is a football quarterback who enjoys practicing his long passes over 40 yards. He unfortunately misses the first pass 40% of the time. When he misses on the first pass, he misses the second pass 20% of the time, furthermore. With this considered, what's the probability of missing two passes in a row?

#3: Peter's conducting an experiment in order to determine if a new medication is effective in reducing swelling or not. He gets 1500 volunteers with swelling & he divides them into two groups. Th control group does not receive any medication while the treatment group does receive the medication. The patients whom are in the treatment group do show reduced signs of swelling, so, with all these things considered, what can Peter conclude from his experiment?
