The electronic components of a computer are cooled by air flowing through a fan mounted at the inlet of the electronics enclosure, which is similar to heat exchangers. At steady state, air enters at 22 degree C and 101 kPa. For spatial restrictions, the cross-sectional diameter of the air inlet port into the enclosure is limited to 5 cm. For temperature control, the temperature of the air has to be 33 degree C. The electronic components and fan receive 100 W of electric power. Heat transfer through the enclosure surfaces to the surroundings is negligible. The changes in kinetic and potential energies can be ignored. The specific heat of air can be estimated from the appropriate table. Determine (i) the inlet air velocity in m/s and (ii) volumetric flow rate in L/min. Show correct units. State all assumptions. Use the problem solving methodology.
