Prevention mentions the action required to prevent a current issue or complication. Health promotion has three prevention levels: first, prevention is called primary prevention; it arises before illness or injury and may involve pre-emptive treatments, such as immunizations and health exams. The next level is called secondary prevention; it emphasizes the early discovery and management of disease developments before they advance and cause irreversible destruction; this prevention phase is executed through health inspections and initial care. Tertiary prevention is the last level; it occurs when a disease development has caused a lasting injury of some form (Falkner, A. 2018). The nurse will first figure out which level of prevention in health promotion the patient belongs in; for example, Tertiary prevention is sending a patient home with a PICC line for antibiotics; besides educating the patient, the nurse will need to coordinate home health as well. Regular physical motion is related to many health values, including avoiding many long-lasting illnesses and ailments or decreasing their unfavorable effects.
