You are the new business analyst of Hilton Limited. The CEO of Hilton Group, Lloyd Hilton has assigned you the task to conduct a statistical analysis of the current cinema ticket price and audience demand for Hilton Cinemas (see HILTON CINEMAS DATA FILE.xlsx) and prepare 800 word report summarising your findings addressing the three (3) issues below:

Issue A: use Cinema Tickets Data

1. Determine the current average pricing of the accommodation by brands, states, and locations using Pivot Table and Pivot Charts.

Issue B: use Case Study Part 1 Data
1. Determine the variables that seem to be more promising predictors of cinema admissions each year using multiple regression model, and determine the implications for film distributor executives evident from the analysis.
2. Determine other variables,not included above, that may also be important predictors in determining the annual numbers of movie-goers.

Issue C: use Case Study Part 2 Data
1. Develop a multiple regression model to predict the number of times an individual goes to the movies per year from their age, income and number of discount cinema tickets received.
2. Determine the particular independent variables that seem to have more promise in predicting the number of times a person goes to the movies, and determine the marketing implications evident from the analysis.

Part 1: Action Plan
o Create an action plan for how you will conduct the analysis to address the three (3) issues above. Your action plan should describe the following for EACH issue:
- How the data will be prepared and organised for analysis
- What analytic tool will be used to perform the analysis
- The multiple linear regression model written in mathematical equation
- How regression analysis will be performed (tests for multicollinearity, normal distribution of residuals, coefficients, autocorrelation, and
prediction with confidence interval)

Part 2: Spreadsheet Analysis
o Implement and perform the analysis using pivot table, Excel Analysis Tool and PHStat. Create one excel file for each issue. Part 3: Report and Communication
o Write an 800 word report summarising the findings of your analysis for each issue.

ASSESSMENT ITEM 2: DESCRIPTION

The aim of this assessment is to apply business analytics and statistical theory to analyse a business scenario with a particular focus on the application of Excel Analysis Tools and PHStat.

You are the new business analyst for Cunningham Holdings. The CEO of the Cunningham Holdings subsidiary, Oscar Cunningham has assigned you the task to conduct a statistical analysis of the current accommodation business data (see CHL Accommodation DATA.xlsx) and prepare 800 word report summarising your findings addressing the five issues below.

• Issue 1: Determine current average pricing of accommodation by brands, states, and locations
• Issue 2: Determine whether price differentiation exist among the accommodation brands.
• Issue 3: Determine whether price differentiation exist between state among accommodation brands.
• Issue 4: Determine whether price differentiation exist between location among accommodation brands.
• Issue 5: Determine if the introduction of the Comfort brand has increased internal competition among the other accommodation brands

Your submission consists of 3 parts:

• Pan 1: Action Plan
o Create an action plan for how you will conduct the analysis to address the five issues above. You action plan should describe the followings for EACH issue:
o How the data will be prepared and organised for analysis
o What analytic tool will be used to perform the analysis
o How hypothesis testing will be performed for issues 2 to 5 (see more details in the case study description)
• Part 2: Spreadsheet Analysis
o Implement and perform the analysis using pivot table, Excel Analysis Tool and PHStat. Create one worksheet for each issue.
• Part 3: Report and Communication
• Write an 800 word report summarising the findings of your analysis for all the five issues.
