The drive-mode electrode configuration differs from that in Fig. 21.13 in that the electrodes occupy only about 80% of the sidewalk and about 50% of the top and bottom. Using finite-difference methods, determine a solution to the Laplace equation for this geometry. To simplify the calculation, assume that all of space is filled with a uniform dielectric with dielectric constant equal to that of quartz. Based on this result, calculate the bending moment and compare it to the result using the analytic solution in the text together with the assumption that the fields in outer 20% of the sidewalls were ignored.
