Question - Edinburgh City Council has assigned your research team the task to conduct a study that may facilitate the design of plan to support retail businesses in the city. You should design a survey approach to tackle the issue of High Street Retail Recovery in Edinburgh. By High Street, we main the main businesses one can find in the city center. The design should explore the best approach to administer a questionnaire and development of the questionnaire. The role of the survey will be to explore the impact of the easing of lockdown on retail business in Edinburgh. The Scottish Retail Consortium reported that one in six Scottish shop units was empty in April 2021. The commissioner of the survey want to see if business have re-started using those spaces or not, whether the number of empty shop units has increased or decreased compared to last year, the number of customers that have used their business and an indication if their online shopping has gone up or down compared to last year. They also wish to have the demographic details of population segments included in the survey.

The Requirement:

-To write the research proposal REPORT for the research which should outline the following:

-The target population and any relevant segments within it.

-Justify the selection of the sample and sample frame (if appropriate)

-Detailed explanation of the sampling method, including justification of why this is the best or most convenient choice.
