A comparative essay on two local governments' approaches to supporting a particular interest group (people with disabilities, seniors, youth etc) in their host community / communities

In this instance you should assume the position of a local government worker. You work in location "A", and you wish to understand how the two selected local governments (locations "B" & "Cr) work with your chosen interest group for the purpose of presenting a proposal to your team members about the direction your local government should take.

Your essay should:

a. Identify the local government you are representing and outline the scope of your investigation, This should include who or what the interest group is, the demographics and perhaps location (e.g. is there an area of your community that houses a large number of seniors?), their needs and assumed aspirations (e.g. a need to socialise in a safe area)

b. Identify the two local governments you are comparing. Ensure that your essay demonstrates a rational reason for selecting these local governments (similarities to the local government you represent). Include sufficient information (referenced) to support your decision.

c. Write a detailed analysis of the work of the two local governments - you may need to explore beyond their website to get a broad understanding Describing the similarities and differences between them.

d. Finally, summarise your findings and a proposed direction (conclusion) with reasons why you have chosen that particular direction. This may mean that you select some ideas from one of the local governments and some from the other to present a clear and cohesive proposal.

e. Provide correct references both in-text and in a Reference List - at least 8 references should be used.
