Assessment 1
Group Assessment
Fresh Fruit Markets (FFM) is a company that operates Australia with one distribution centre in located in each estate capital in Australia. FFM decided to use the Internet of Thing to get competitive advantage against other fruit and veggies sellers providing real time information about their products to ensure their customers are getting the best value possible when buying their products.
FFM is searching for a IoT solution capable of monitoring the temperature and humidity of their products from farm to their shopping counters. Designing an IoT solution for FFM based the IoT concepts presented between week 1-4. Include information about the frameworks, standards, device types and topology adopted before justifying of your choice.
Deliverables:
1. Report including 6 well defined sections detailing information about:
a. Introduction with the motivation for the IoT project;
b. The IoT Framework of your choice;
c. The IoT Standards/Protocols adopted;
d. List with minimum 3 types of Devices/Things to be connected to the network and the reason for connecting those specific devices;
e. The network diagram of your solution with minimum but not limited to 10 device and 1 server, all connected to the internet; and
f. Conclusion including the potential benefits of the solution to your clients.
2. Slides for the presentation; and
3. Students list with topics for the presentation.
This report must contain between 2500 and 3500 words maximum.
Assessment 2
Use the Assessment 1 report as a guideline for your simulation/implementation and feel free to add new features to it, such as data visualizations, virtual reality, machine learning support, etc. The topics 9 and 10 will serve as a guideline for you to deliver your solution. However, the theory available through the whole unit will be very useful for you to consistently demonstrate you have consolidated the required knowledge to be part of this exciting IoT transformation.
IoT Solution Demo
Implement your own IoT solution project on a simulated environment (or using a real device) connecting to IBM Watson IoT platform.
Record an approximated 10 minutes demonstration of your IoT solution for the Fresh Fruit Market using your mobile phone and submit it with your report.
Individual Report
Your report must include:
1. A brief introduction explaining the benefits brought by IoT cloud platforms;
2. Your temporary IBM IoT cloud credentials to be shared with the grader for marking purposes;
3. Your print screens from IBM IoT platform depicting:
a. The IoT platform launch process;
b. The virtual/real devices registration process;
c. Registered devices check to successfully connected to the IoT cloud network;
d. Red-Node program showing nodes diagram connected or Python source code used in your solution;
e. Visualisation dashboard showing sensors/simulation data in real-time;
4. The debugging, security and testing measures you have adopted; and
5. Conclusion.
6. Extra (5%): Description about the real device and
