ASSESSMENT ITEM: PROJECT PROPOSAL DESCRIPTION
This assessment is the starting point of the design thinking project. The assessment will be completed in a team; teams will be formed in Week 1. So, you must attend the first class. In this subject, you will work in a team of 5 students on a project to design an innovative business solution. You will use the design thinking mindset, processes and methods to complete the project.
You are required to:
- Choose one of the proposed projects in the attached list (Appendix 1)
- Understanding the challenges and requirements of designing for your target users - Prepare and conduct research to gather information and inspiration
Interpret research results to identify design opportunities
- Define the design focus
- Generate and refine design ideas
- Develop and assess solutions iteratively
- Reflect upon your experience of the design thinking processes and teamwork - Organize your team and define a specific project topic.
Tasks
1. You are required to undertake some preliminary research about what business innovations currently exist in your chosen project.
2. Your team will organize at least 1 meeting by the end of Week 2 to:
- Setup team ground rules and agreed guidelines for management of the project
- Share preliminary research results and ideas about possible innovations
