Aerospace Engineering Assignment - Wing Box Design
Design the simple aircraft wing box which is simply like I have to choose the design objective and based on that I have to do the material selections for that design. The material selection task in general only requires an overall knowledge of the load and stress scenarios for the parts you are designing. For example, the knowledge that this part of the landing gear is typically highly stressed and for example required by regulations to be designed within the safe life domain, or this set of skin panels see high tensile loads in flight and compressive loads on the ground and are required by regulation to be designed with a fail safe domain.
This part must be designed to sustain impact damage from discrete sources (Discrete source damage) and that part is vulnerable to corrosion and the material must be selected accordingly. As you can observe, a good place to start would be with a careful review of the regulations (FAR, CAR) pertaining to your particular structure. In summary, no need for load and stress analysis in the first report but there is definitely a need to understand what role the part you are designing is meant to play, what are the constraints, what materials perform better (best) for this role and constraints, and then select your materials accordingly.
Since all things are relative you must start by defining a set of objectives for your aircraft. For example an objective could be related to minimizing the cost of purchase or cost of operation (life cycle costs) or it could be related to performance, luxury, environmental friendliness, or a combination. Your material selection must then be directly related to and help you fulfill your objectives (make sure however that your objectives do not conflict with each other). If cost is important this might limit your choice for fancy/expensive materials but not so if performance or environmental considerations supersede cost.

Using Optisystem Software please design and simulate a circuit to determine the kerr effect of a fibre optics cable (580 - 1600nm). Results should be graphs of Power (w) vs Wavelength & Power vs Time (n).
A particular transistor has a power rating at 25°C of 10 W, and a maximum junction temperature of 150°C. What is its thermal resistance? What is its power rating when operated at an ambient temperature of 50°C? What is its junction temperature whe..
Using either T or J-K flip-flops, design a 4-bit counter with asynchronous clear (asserted low) and a rollover interrupt flag signal, and draw the schematic. On a separate piece of graph paper, plot the 4 outputs against a square wave input.
For the purposes of this experiment, we will assume this anti-alias filtering is to be done using a recursive low pass filter derived from the Butterworth analogue prototype (using the bilinear transformation).
