Design the power transmission drive shown in Fig. 21-55 given the following information:
• The shaft is held by a radial ball bearing having an inside diameter of 1.000 inches, an outside diameter of 2.000 inches, and a width of .500 inches (SKF #6005) located in the housing. Estimate sizes not given or see manufacturer's catalog for specific information. The end cap and a retaining ring hold the bearing in the housing. Two retaining rings hold the bearing in position on the shaft.
• The end cap is held in the housing by a retaining ring.
• The gear is held to the clutch by a key and retaining ring. A key locked in position by a setscrew holds the clutch in position on the shaft.
• The belt pulley assembly is held to the shaft by retaining rings and a square key.
• Dimensions shown are nominal sizes. Select proper fits using the tables in the Appendix.
a) Find the general solution of the homogeneous ODE (the left hand side) and call it yh. b) Verify that yp= -0.5tcos(3t) is a solution.. i.e show that yp" + 9yp'= 3sin(3t). c) Construct the general solution of this ODE y=yh+yp
The series resistance of the cell is 10mΩ and the parallel resistance is 500Ω. At a given time, the solar power density is 300W/m2. Compute the irradiance efficiency.
Write the mathematical expression for the current iL and the voltage vL after the switch is closed. - Sketch the waveform of iL and vL from the initial value to the steady-state level.
The open circuit voltage of the battery is 1.493 V. When a 100 resistor is connected across it, its measured voltage is 1.356V. Find its approximate Thevenin resistance and draw a model for the battery.
The performance of a journal bearing around a rotating shaft is a function of the given variables:- Suggest appropriate parameters to be used in correlating experimental data for such a system.
A Silicon wafer has a uniform doping density of 8 xl018 atoms cm-3 of Arsenic and 2.5 x 1019 atoms cm-3 of Phosphorus. Assume that all Arsenic atoms are fully (100%) ionized at room temperature but the Phosphorus atoms are 80% ionized.
An a.c. supply of 230V is applied to a half-wave rectifier circuit through transformer of turns ration 5:1. Assume the diode is an ideal one. The load resistance is 300Ω.Find (a) dc output voltage (b) PIV (c) maximum, and (d) average values of power ..
The maximum harmonious party. - Formulate a zero-one programming problem which, if it could be solved. would select which clients to invite.
Develop an m-file to determine the roots of the closed-loop transfer function characteristic polynomial for K=1 and 5. For which values of K is the closed loop system stable
A temperature transmitter has aninput range of 0 to 100 degrees celsius, an output range of 4to 20 mA, and an accuracy of ± 0.5%. The ideal transmitterhas a linear output from 4 mA at 0 degrees celsius to 20 mA at 100degrees celsius.
Calculate the electric field strength E1 (Newton/Coulomb) at the surface of an ellipsoid with major/minor axes of 0.3m x 0.4m x 0.4m, enclosing a charge q2 at the origin with 26.5 Coulomb. The medium is air.
Consider putting down a metal electrode with a 4.50 eV work function on a piece of Ge which has an electron affinity of 4.00 eV, an intrinsic carrier concentration at 300K of 2.5 x 1013/cm3, and that is doped with 1.0 x 1016 donors/cm3.
