Design your own personal and professional development plan. The following criteria must be considered in the development of your plan:
1. Rate your present skills and competencies against professional standards and organisational objectives.
2. Identify and justify your personal and professional development needs, and activities required to meet them.
3. Explore development opportunities that can support meeting own current and future defined needs
4. Create and implement a personal and professional development plan based on identified needs.
5. Potential challenges to achieving your goals and suggested actions to mitigate these.
Include a brief introduction explaining what a Personal Development Plan is, and summarising the main points within this assignment.
1. Using the Skills Audit template, identify between 4-6 skills and competencies. Explain why these are considered important in-line with professional standards and organisational objectives.
2. Following the Skills Audit conducted in Q1, identify your own PPD needs and assess 2-3 appropriate activities to meet these needs. Explain why these activities have been identified as the most suitable to support you in attaining your needs.
3. Discuss how you plan to keep informed about updates within your organisation and industry. The PEST analysis can be a suitable tool in the formulation of this response.
4. Your PPD plan must include the following:
• The plan should be clearly set out with relevant sections and linked to the needs.
• The learner must show an understanding of the processes and activities required to implement the plan including effective time management strategies.
5. Reflect on challenges you may face to meet your goals, and devise an action plan in order to overcome these challenges.
