Choose species from the following list;
1. Orangutan
2. Meerkats
3. Asian small-clawed otters
4. Servals

Write a short one-sentence title (<20 words) about the focus of the study, which includes correct common name and scientific name (in italics & in brackets) of the species.

Species background information
Describe in one paragraph for each:
a) the name of your chosen species, conservation status (vulnerable, endangered, critically endangered etc), and range/location of wild populations based on information from the IUCN Red list report for your species (you must use this source).
b) the social status of your species in the wild (solitary, semi-social, social) and why you need to consider this information for the design of enrichment and enclosures in zoos.
c) why you need to consider an animal's background information above for the design of enrichment and enclosures for zoo animals.

Enrichment proposals: food-related
Describe in one paragraph: one suitable food-related enrichment object or technique for your species. Please cite at least one source for this idea (it can be a website link or a peer-reviewed article or report). Provide a diagram or photograph if it helps with your description and label it correctly as a figure, with a legend underneath the figure.

Describe in one paragraph: relevant health and safety issues to be considered for the food-related enrichment, so that it is safe for the animal or animals in the enclosure, zoo visitors and zoo staff. It should be cheap, easy for the staff to clean and maintain within their usual daily duties and benefit the experience of zoo visitors.

Enrichment proposals: non-food-related
Describe in one paragraph: one suitable non-food-related enrichment object or technique for your species. Please cite at least one source for this idea (it can be a website link or a peer-reviewed article or report). Provide a diagram or photograph if it helps with your description and correctly as a figure, with a legend underneath the figure.
