Development of a Personal Learning Network using blogging software
Purpose: The purpose of this assessment task is to enable students to create and develop a Personal Learning Network (PLN) using blogging software, allowing them to connect with others, share ideas, and engage in reflective practice. By exploring various categories of learning spaces covered in the course, students will apply their understanding to design and customize an online learning space that suits their unique learning needs and interests.
This unit requires you to use the APA referencing system.
Task Description:
For this assessment, you will develop a Personal Learning Network (PLN) using blogging software. A PLN is an online learning space that allows you to connect with others, share ideas, and engage in reflective practice. Through this task, you will explore different categories of a learning space covered in the course and apply your understanding to create a customised online learning space.
Instructions:
Use the ACU LEO Individual Wiki to create your PLN (a link to this is provided on our LEO site under the Assessment Tile (under Assessment Task 3).
Design and create your PLN by incorporating the one of the following modules from the course (chose a module that you have not used for either Assessment Task 1 or 2):
a) The electronic learning space
b) The personal learning space
c) The group learning space
d) The cultural contexts of learning spaces
Part 1 (approx. 1500 words):
For the selected module, complete the following tasks:
a) Evaluate and analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the respective learning space category in relation to the teaching and learning needs of teachers, students, and / or children.
b) Critique the findings of an investigation into the requirements for the design of an educational space within a category to meet a specific educational need.
c) Demonstrate your understanding of the factors and perspectives that need to be considered in visualising, creating, managing, and adapting the learning space category.
Part 2 (500 words):
Reflect on your experience of learning online throughout the course and the application of new skills and understandings in your own teaching and learning. Discuss how these experiences have influenced your design and development of your PLN.
Justify the choices you made in designing and organising your PLN to meet your personal educational needs.
