During this project assignment, you will gain practice using Microsoft Word to create a three-panel pamphlet and report document.
Before you start working on your project assignment, please complete Lab 1 to practice and improve your skills required for this assignment. The theme of word assignment is about the 2024 Summer Olympics The 2024 summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, is an international multi-sport event which will be hosted in Paris, France. It is sure to be full of magnificent events, just as the world is expecting. The world will not only see the Olympic spirit from the athletes but they will also learn about the capital and the most populous city in France. You will design a pamphlet for 2024 summer Olympics.
You may introduce the 2024 Olympics as whole: including City of Paris and its history, museums, architectural landmarks, things to do and vision for 2024 Olympics. You can also advertise a single or multiple Olympic sports in the 2024 summer Olympics. After finishing the pamphlet, you will create a report. The report can be on the Olympics as a whole, a financial report on the Olympics, or a report on a single or multiple Olympic sports.
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS - For your Project 1, you will design and produce two (2) documents using Microsoft Word: Three-panel pamphlet or brochure Report document
Part 1: Pamphlet or Brochure
A three-panel pamphlet will contain information about the 2024 Olympics as a whole or 2024 Olympic sports that you want to advertise for the upcoming event.
The pamphlet should have the following format: A word document that contains two pages. Make sure that each page is divided into three columns, and that a vertical line separates each column. On the first page, the second panel is the back of the pamphlet and the third panel is the front. The front section should be designed in such a way that an individual will feel compelled to read the pamphlet after a first glance. This is where you would include the name of the Olympic or sport, a relevant logo or picture, a slogan or one liner that describes the sport and so forth. Include your name in the lower right corner. The back section should contain information about where the reader can find more information about the 2024 Olympics or its sport (a website or phone number etc.), the Olympics and sport's competition date and the address of the competition (You may have to use an assumed date and address). The rest of the pamphlet should contain information relevant to the 2024 Olympics including the sport characteristics, athletes, competition locations, country participations, and anything else you would expect when reading about an upcoming Olympics.
What goes into your pamphlet or brochure? Your brochure must include the following features listed below: A two-page brochure with six panels; Page orientation: Landscape; 3 columns per page; Vertical Lines between columns; 1 inch gap between columns; Margins top, bottom, left and right of 0.5 inches; Table(s) (at least 2 columns and 2 rows minimum, column widths must be visibly different) with different color text in the table; At least 2 occurrences of WordArt in your pamphlet; Two types of SmartArt one with images one with text only; Text effect(s); Drop Cap; Images with text wrapping option; Callout(s) with enclosed text; Shape(s); Arrow(s); Appropriate font appearances (Bigger sized fonts for titles, etc.); Symbols; Text with strikethrough; Textbox(es) with enclosed text; Full Justification for paragraph text; Appropriate justification for other text; Proper layout panels organized in the appropriate order to allow appropriate folding; Border around a paragraph of text (This does not include borders around a textbox); Paragraph shadings applied to one paragraph; and Hyperlink.
Part 2: Report
This is a report that shows how much you appreciate the Olympics and its sports or a financial report for the Olympics. Your report should comprise of at least 5 pages including Title page and Table of Contents page. What goes into your report? Regardless of the theme option you've selected, your report must include the following features listed below: 2 section breaks - one immediately after the title page, and one separating the Table of Contents and the Table of Figures from the main part of the report; Proper use of Styles, including at least 2 levels of heading and a style dedicated to 'body text'; Page numbering, with different page numbering for the Table section of your report (The Table of Contents and Table of Figures pages) for example "i", and no page number on the title page. The rest of the pages use 1, 2, 3...; Title Page with border around entire page; Table of contents with working, clickable links (correctly use heading and style to auto create the table of contents); Table of figures with working, clickable links (correctly use caption to auto create table of figures); 2 Pictures with captions; At least one chart to predict the cost of organize the Olympic game you are interested in; A bulleted list with at least 4 items; A hyperlink at the bottom of the report, which goes to the title page. The link should be displayed with appropriate text; A header with your company name, and the date. The header should not appear on the title page; and All sources that have been used (contents and images) need to be cited using APA citation at the end of report.
