You are required to design and develop a prototype product that uses Internet of Things technologies for environmental monitoring. Generally, IoT products collect data observed by one or more sensors, process this data, and analyse it to derive actionable insights - i.e. findings that can be used to inform decision making, take control of something, or to invoke an action. Actions can be achieved, for example, through the use of actuators, data visualisation, or by sending messages to somebody.
This coursework is composed of three deliverables; these are:
1. Prototype system design.
2. Prototype system implementation
3. A video demonstrating the system
You should use the Raspberry Pis provided by the School to develop your solution. You should also use the Sense HAT, and may use any other hardware you have available. You are free to use any software development environment(s) that you are familiar with. You are free to supplement the provided hardware with any additional hardware (e.g. sensors, actuators). You may also use any software libraries and web services not covered in the module, as long as your usage complies with any associated license / Terms and Conditions. Details of additional hardware, software libraries, and web services should be included in the reports associated with the relevant assessments.
If you do not have a Raspberry Pi, or are unable to use the one that you have, you may develop your solution using Python on a standard desktop / laptop machine with code to emulate the sensors.
