Assignment -
Instructions - Give the options here i.e. Klann linkage OR Jansen linkage.
Also the position analysis, velocity analysis and the acceleration analysis is a must for this report.
Design and analyze a six bar mechanism with position, vector and acceleration analysis.
Minimum requirements: CAD drawings.
- One of the drawings should clearly mark the point of interest, load, input force/torque etc.
- If the movement is not obvious on the CAD drawings, show a couple motion sequences, e.g., open and close positions. Degree of freedom analysis. Kinematic analysis (motion, velocity, acceleration).
- You can use the linkage software on blackboard, or use Solidwork, Autodest Inventor etc. CAD software, or write your own program.
Report - 3-4 Pages.
Report Requirements are in next section.
Options: Animation of the mechanism movement.
Prototyping. It will be for the kinematic demonstration, no need to be the real size/materials.
Report:
- Abstract/Summary
- Introduction and Objectives (customer needs, background research, patent search, design objectives etc.)
- Design and Analysis
- Results and discussion (include strengths and weaknesses)
- Conclusion
- Literature and references
- Appendices if any. Some common requirements on report: This is a technical report, not a daily journal.
Use passive sentences. Every figure needs a title, put the title below the figure.
If you have table(s), each table needs a title and the title is above the table. If you have multiple lines/curves on one figure, use different line types and colors for each of them.
