Assignment Objective
This assignment aims to give an opportunity to students to demonstrate their skills for analyzing a business organization scenario using various structured analysis tools. It also aims to develop the ability of the student to produce suitable input and output designs considering the scenario under study. It expects students to perform analysis of an existing organization from the perspective of a System Analyst.

Assignment Tasks

Introduction
Select any organization in Oman. It can be small, medium or large organization. For instance, it can be a school, college, hospital, supermarket, restaurant, travel agency, post office, logistic company, gift shop, coffee shop, library and so on. If you are choosing a very large organization like Saud Bhawan Group LLC, then you can also select any one department/branch of the organization. Once you select an organization/department, using suitable information gathering tool, understand how the organization/department functions currently. Collect information regarding the goals of the organization, details of different departments, the various types of users, different business processes and tasks carried out in the organization/department.

Question 1. Write a short description of the chosen organization/department. This should basically be a summary of your findings which includes the goals of the organization/department, different business processes and procedures/tasks performed in the organization. The summary should also include details of various data that is being collected, processed, stored, and disseminated along with source and destination of this data as part of different processes of the organization/department.

Question 2. Draw the following diagrams to represent the scenario described in Task 1

a. Hierarchical Input Process Output (HIPO) chart to represent the function hierarchy and input output process details of the processes.
(Note: The chart must include three levels of decomposition- Second level must have minimum two processes. Each function in the second level must be divided into two sub functions in the third level. Also, take any one function from level two and prepare the Input Process Output representation)
b. Context diagram
The context diagram is expected to have:
• Relevant system name
• At least 4 External Entities
• Input and output data flows (minimum 6)
• Followed proper rules
c. Level 0 DFD (Data Flow Diagram) and its short description
The Level 0 DFD is expected to have:
• Relevant processes (at least 2 processes)
• External entities
• Relevant Data stores (minimum 2 data stores)
• Relevant input & output data flows
• Followed proper rules

Question 3. Based on one of the manual business processes identified in Task 1,
a. Design an Input Form for the proposed automated system of the chosen organization/department following the guidelines of creating a form. Also briefly explain the guidelines followed in creating the form.

b. Design an Output Form for the proposed automated system of the chosen organization/department following the guidelines of creating an output form. Also briefly explain the guidelines followed in creating the form.

Question 4. Do a presentation describing all the solutions of the Tasks 1 - 3
