Design an outdoor play zone using local and natural materials that embody the values of sustainability in a childcare setting.

Instructions
1. Choose one video from the videatives database. (Buchannan Library, LC Main Webpage) Record one observation from the video and include Title and URL of the video in the statement of context.
2. Consider developmental skills. Considering what you have observed, begin planning the design of your outdoor play zone and your objectives for it.
3. Select a zone for outdoor play. What are its strengths and weaknesses?
4. Select local and natural materials to include in your play zone.
5. Consider risky play and hazards.
The attached form needs to be used for this assignment. Ensure all sections are thoughtfully completed.

Complete the observation form and plan experiences based on this observation.

The curriculum development (planning process) begins with observing children to determine their interests, existing knowledge and the possibilities in planning for play based learning.

Draw an outdoor play zone with the materials you intend to use. The picture/ drawing should clearly show how you would set up the play experiences for the children. Include minimum 6 drawings to clearly show the play setting (technology can be used to draw the play setting).
Note: Please label all the pictures of the materials. The setup of those materials in your play zone should be clear in your drawing.
