Description

The goal of this project is two-fold:

1. Each student will have the opportunity to research and design an HR program/process based on "best practices." The goal with best practices is to learn what other organizations are doing to solve problems and/or take advantage of opportunities.

2. Students will gain knowledge regarding HR best practices based on research which in designing future programs/processes for their own companies. In essence, this is an Applied Project.

Your project will include the following parts:

Question: Describe the human resources need, problem, or situation for an organization of yourchoosing. Please ensure you can find sufficient information from your research.

Conduct an in-depth literature review of your HR topic and pay close attention to best practices. The game plan is to identify a need (i.e., problem, pain point) or opportunity and identify how other organizations are using best practices to handle a similar situation. For example, how are HR departments and companies as a whole managing people working from home after the pandemic. Your sources must be reputable, and they come from internet searches, library articles and personal interviews. Be sure to check the SHRM web site (www.shrm.org). Include a minimum of 5 (five) companies' practices/solutions.

Please make sure to provide at least two options that you may recommend to your chosen organization. Please ensure these are fully supported by research. For example, some company leaders want their employees to physically be in the office, but the employees prefer working remotely. What are two possible alternatives that you can propose in this situation?
Provide an outline of a program that you would recommend. In others, assume you are making a presentation to the leadership team, and you are describing a high-level overview of how this HR need or opportunity will be tackles.
